Ingredients
  

Pork Chops

  • 4 pieces Pork chops (at least 1 inch thick) Let sit at room temperature for 15 minutes and salt both sides before cooking.

For Cooking

  • 2 tablespoons Oil For pan-searing.
  • 1 tablespoon Butter To add flavor toward the end of cooking.
  • 2 cloves Garlic Optionally added for flavor while cooking.

Preparation

  • Take the pork chops out of the fridge and let them sit out for about 15 minutes.
  • Season both sides with salt.

Cooking

  • Heat a skillet over high heat until sizzling.
  • Add oil and then the pork chops, cooking undisturbed for 3-4 minutes on each side.
  • Lower the heat, add butter and garlic, and spoon the butter over the chops for 1-2 minutes.

Resting

  • Let the pork chops rest for 5 minutes before cutting into them.

Notes

Pork chops are best served with a variety of sides such as potatoes, salads, and roasted vegetables. Also consider using a thermometer to check doneness (145°F).
